We currently have an opening for a Full Time Assistant Branch Manager in our North Hills location.
As an Assistant Branch Manager with Interior Savings Insurance you are a key contributor assisting the Branch Manager in fostering a positive team environment of employee ‘performance excellence’ by coaching and mentoring the branch team, interviewing and hiring new staff as required, identifying employee skill gaps and developing, coaching and assuring training for them. Developing performance standards and conducting performance appraisals; identifying performance problems and implementing corrective plans of action. Instituting progressive discipline when required, according to corporate policy. Creating opportunities for employee growth and satisfaction and administering the Terms and Conditions of Employment
Act as a role model and mentor to more junior positions by handling the more complex insurance transactions and understanding the nature of those transactions, and aiding the more junior positions with more complex client issues and complaints.
Provide insurance services to clients, including but not limited to, more complex insurance interactions. Build, foster, and inspire staff towards a positive, strong, team environment, and provide opportunities for personal growth and development. Foster business development through service excellence and product knowledge. Assist the Branch Manager in achieving profitability of the branch by setting short- and long-term goals and objectives, developing strategies to attain and exceed the overall growth and income objectives of the branch.
Actively solicit referrals to commercial lines representatives, wealth management specialists, and credit union sales staff; cross sells as agency and credit union products to insurance clients. Retains signing authority to bind the agency to individual policies and processes personal lines policies. Recommends and implements a client’s insurance coverage, premiums and collects payment; promotes credit union products and services. Managing branch operations in absence of Branch Manager. Maintain established procedures with respect to confidentiality, negotiable items, cash transactions, equipment and surroundings to meet safety, legal and procedural requirements. Develop and maintain a strong image within the community. Maintains a professional standard of conduct at all times while promoting a positive image of the Insurance Agency. Other duties as required; assist other staff as required.
- Level 2 License
- Completion of CAIB 1 or Fundamentals of Insurance and
- Completion of CAIB 2 & 3
- High school diploma/Grade 12
- 3-5 years experience in the insurance industry
- 2-3 years experience in a supervisory position
- Strong working knowledge of personal, Autoplan, and commercial insurance services
