Squamish Insurance is growing and we have a new opportunity for an Insurance Advisor located in beautiful Squamish, BC. Along with Vancity’s Good Money brand promise to our members, you will provide exceptional customer service and be knowledgeable in insurance products. You will engage with clients to determine best solutions and advice while ensuring the best coverage for commercial, personal and auto insurance. You will bring a natural ability to build strong relationships and look for opportunities to grow business within our community.

Mandate Statement:

Clients will receive quality commercial, personal and auto insurance advice and efficient service that achieves both profitability and enables community well being.

Key areas of accountability for this role are:

  • Prepare quotes, provide comprehensive insurance advice on clients’ current and future needs and provide, commercial lines, personal lines and auto insurance products and services to both new and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain a commercial lines book of business by identifying needs, offering product options, actively recruiting for new business and referrals, growing relationships with commercial clients and cross selling insurance products and services.
  • Process insurance policies according to established agency management workflow procedures.
  • Review and reconcile insurance company payables and receivables and investigate transaction errors or discrepancies, as assigned, according to established standards.
  • Provide referrals for additional products and services offered by Squamish Savings and/ or Vancity.
  • Provide coaching, advice and guidance to the team to support their understanding and effectiveneness.

Competencies:

  • Advanced- knowledge of insurance; commercial, personal lines and auto products, practices and underwriting procedures, risk identification and coverages.
  • Advanced- Communication and interpersonal skills to provide specialized expertise and advice.
  • Solid- business acumen in the context of the insurance industry.
  • Solid knowledge of Vancity banking products and services.

Education:

  • High School Diploma (General)
  • Post Secondary Education – Fundamentals of Insurance, CAIB Level2 and 3

Experience:

  • Sales
  • Coaching & Mentoring
  • Insurance Services

Licenses and Certifications:

  • General Insurance Agent Level 2 License
