Full-Time Assistant Manager, Insurance

We are seeking a Assistant Manager, Insurance to join one of our Kelowna locations.
 
Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day:
  • Leadership: Provides training and coaching to staff on effective relationship building, interviewing and sales skills to achieve branch and personal goals;; ensures branch operations are conducted in a timely and accurate manner; contributes to overall branch administrative and security needs; supports creating and sustaining a work environment that engages staff and supports their success; is the “go to” person for staff to help solve complex problems or client concerns; assists manager with month-end activities; performs overrides; and manages the insurance branch in the absence of the manager.
  • Sales and Service: Conducts client interviews to ensure understanding of needs and concerns; sells and processes a full range of personal lines insurance (homeowners’ insurance, renters, mobile home, marine, small commercial etc.); ensures transactions and payments are posted and processed accurately; may provide back-up service to meet clients’ auto insurance needs; and makes financing arrangements.Business Development: Actively participates in external business development activities in conjunction with the manager; identifies opportunities to expand and deepen relationships through provision of additional products and services; makes qualified referrals to other FW lines of business; and seeks new business opportunities in client base and prospects potential new clients.
  • Financial Management: Arranges for financing; calculates monthly premiums; completes finance contract for all types of insurance products where financing is an option; collects all premiums and follows up on overdue accounts, as required; reports claims promptly to insurers’ adjusters and conducts follow-up activities with clients to ensure service levels are maintained by the insurer; reports all claims over limits to manager; supports clients if there is loss or damage by referring claims to the centralized claims area and/or compiling information on circumstances surrounding the event
  • Sales & Service Strategy: Provides input to the insurance branch sales plan and strategy and shares accountability for the achievement of sales targets.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifies continuous improvement opportunities, providing input in the design of new administrative procedures, technology applications and other processes impacting the branch and trade area’s operation.
  • Other duties as assigned by leader.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
  • Level 2 General Insurance License (CAIB 2 and 3 preferred) 
  • 2 Years experience in a personal
  • Technologically adept with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), ICBC Software, and insurance specific programs
